It offers excellent protection from the wind, yet still breathes enough so you don’t overheat while skiing, running, climbing or skating. While the outside of The North Face Windwall 1 amounts to a strong force field against the wind, the interior is lined with a fluffy warm layer of fleece and you can make it even cozier by cinching the draw cord at the hem and blocking out the chilly air altogether. Sure, you could use the Windwall 1 Jacket as insulation under a shell, but this middle layer works fine on its own, too.
